This spot is visible from Highway 1 just north of Moss Landing. It caught my attention the first time I passed it in 1996. As I passed it continuously over the years, I’d be thinking I should photograph it, but I was always on my way somewhere. Finally, I made it my destination. Beyond the subject itself, I like this scene because there is so much going on: still water reflections, localized wind and ripples, freshly tilled dark earth, dead wood twisting and sticking in all directions, ribbons of gray tones… |
